VA Lake City Window Replacement

VA Tuscaloosa Building 39 IR Facade Inspection

VA Lake City Window Replacement

Multiple buildings throughout the Lake City, Florida VA Campus were noted with aged and potentially deficient windows. The scope of this project included the development of window replacement documents that can support the wind load rating requirements of the location as well as tuck pointing and waterproofing of existing buildings to ensure a continuous building envelope. A priority list of buildings to receive window replacements was created and included Buildings 64, 82, 38, 62, 64-2, and 19, followed by the remainder of buildings on campus. The goal of the project was to replace and repair as many windows as possible across the Lake City VA Campus within the established budget. Activities on site included taking photographs and sketches to depict existing conditions in the contract documents as well as visual inspections of multiple buildings across the campus. The visual inspections were performed utilizing binoculars and both ground- and drone-mounted visual cameras. Common deficiencies noted included deteriorated and loose mortar joints, deteriorated control joint sealant, deteriorated caulk, spalled and cracked concrete, and corroded lintels. Construction documents shall be developed that detail repair and replacement procedures that will ensure a complete and continuous building envelope for each building in the scope of this project.
