Carolina
Structural repairs to the 1500ft long, 136,000sf
dock. Issues included deteriorated concrete,
damaged expansion joints, and broken fender
piles. Pilings also required reinforcement to
compensate for increase unbraced length due to
dredging and inadequate bearing capacity. The
$8M project also added vertical and battered
piles and reinforced areas of the deck to
withstand live loads of over 1700 pounds per
square foot.
Georgia Department of Natural Resources,
Group Shelter & Marina Seminole State
Park, Georgia
Design of a 3000sf Marina and a 5500sf Group
Assembly Shelter adjacent to Lake Seminole in
southwest Georgia. The project, which is located
in an 110mph wind zone, included long span heavy
timber trusses supported by wood framing and
reinforced masonry.
City of Rome, Riverwalk Pedestrian Bridge Rome, Georgia
The Rome Riverwalk unites downtown Rome with the
Oostanala, Etowah, and Coosa rivers. A system of
trails provides scenic views for bikers, runners
and walkers of the area. The project included a
50’ concrete and steel pedestrian bridge that
provides access over a floodgate in the flood
protection levee.
