Performed forensic investigation of cracks in
concrete slab on grade and cracks in precast
cement terrazzo stair treads at the 60,000sf
quarantine facility. Investigation required data
collection including concrete coring, defect
mapping, and epoxy crack monitors. Analysis
determined that poor mix designs and lack of
proper curing lead to the formation of multiple
shrinkage cracks up to ¼” wide.

Performed forensic failure analysis of cracked
and displaced CMU walls on a 2-story 70000sf
storage facility. Some displacements were over
2”. The study concluded that poor site runoff
management had allowed water to accumulate
behind retaining walls, increasing the
hydrostatic pressure, and leading to their
failure. Repair recommendations were issued.
